The County Durham Young Sport Ambassadors Programme aims to bring together the best primary-age leaders from across the county, providing them with a variety of training workshops to help further develop their knowledge and understanding of sports leadership.
Schools may submit up to three applications to the programme and should consider Year 5 children (aged 9-10) who have previously demonstrated strong leadership skills (either in or out of a sporting context), would benefit from receiving additional leadership training and are committed to developing their sports leadership knowledge and helping County Durham Sport with a variety of activities throughout the academic year.
Please note that schools are encouraged to consider ‘non-sporty’ pupils as all Year 5 pupils are eligible.
The programme cost is £75 per pupil, which can be funded through your Primary Sport Premium money.
The training workshops will take place outside of school time therefore the Parents/guardians will be responsible for their child attending the three training workshops as the workshops.
Applications are closed at the moment but will be opening again in September 2018 for the new academic year.
