School Games

The School Games is a key Government priority for realising a meaningful sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

It is supported by three Government Departments – Department for Education, Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and the Department of Health – with funding from Sport England, through the National Lottery.

Competition takes place at 4 levels: Intra-school (L1), Inter-school (L2), County (L3) and National (L4).

The level 3 Summer School Games for County Durham this year took place at Barnard Castle School on Friday 6th July. View the results from the Summer School Games: results.

The level 3 Winter School Games for County Durham took place across 4 venues: Bishop Barrington School, The Louisa Centre, Maiden Castle & Spennymoor Leisure Centre. View the results here: results.
