Satellite Clubs are focused on increasing the number of 14-19 year olds participating in regular sport and physical activity at the critical time when many young people stop participating.
Satellite Clubs should give young people the confidence to take part by providing positive experiences that reflect their likes and needs.
All projects are required to record, monitor and report participant data and feed this back to County Durham Sport for the duration of the funding period (minimum 30 week delivery). Clubs are asked to report back to County Durham Sport four times during the funding period. County Durham Sport will provide support and guidance with resources to help monitor and record participant data.
Funding will be allocated in two payments. The initial payment will be made upon approval of the Satellite Club and the second payment made six months from the club starting. Failure to provide data will result in funding being withdrawn.
Clubs will be required to attend two compulsory network meetings, one at the start of delivery and the other mid delivery in order to secure funding, along with attend Safeguarding and First Aid training if clubs currently don’t already obtain these.
Promote activities generated through the Satellite Club funding, through social media and other media streams. This will include tagging in County Durham Sport in any posts. County Durham Sport will promote any sessions through our social media.
All clubs will be required to complete a case study to highlight the impact that the Satellite Club has had.
