Durham School seeks to appoint a Swimming Teacher to assist in the delivery of their Saturday morning, Wednesday evening and holiday Community Swimming Programme. The programme consists of classes for children aimed at beginners, improvers and intermediate swimmers and also offers the RLSS Rookie Lifeguard Qualification. The school follows the ASA Learn to Swim Pathway.
Classes take place on Saturday mornings between 8.45am until 1.00pm in the Durham School Swimming pool and a Wednesday evening when classes are between 6.00pm and 8.00pm. It would also be desirable that the successful candidate could teach on Easter and Summer Holiday Programmes which are predominantly in the mornings.
Applicants must hold the ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher or the ASA Level 2 Diploma in Coaching Learn to Swim. The RLSS Pool Lifeguard or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) would be desirable. If you are currently in the process of completing this level qualification and hold the ASA Level 1 please still apply.
