The Campaign Manager will report into the Head of Partnerships and Fundraising and will work closely with the Head of Communications and the Chief Executive Officer.
This is a fixed term contract of 12 months, due to run until the end of November 2020. There will be an opportunity to extend the contract or convert to permanent after this period.

About the role:
Made by Sport is seeking a dynamic and motivated Campaign Manager to manage and deliver the Made by Sport 2020 partnership with the 40th Great North Run, maximising the funds raised and the communications opportunity to grow the profile of Made by Sport.
Strategy and planning:
Contribute towards Made by Sport’s strategic planning process and wider communications, fundraising and events strategy.
Manage the plans, timelines and budgets of events associated with the 40th Great North Run.
Work with the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships and Chief Executive Officer to maximise the monies raised from the Great North Run.
Support with the recruitment strategy, plan, management and stewardship of 350 pre-allocated running places in the Great North Run and others who successfully gain entry through the ballot.
Maximise the funds raised by both groups of runners.
Engage with local businesses and key high net worth individuals throughout the fundraising drive in order to generate funds from the Great North Run but also other fundraising activities.
Ensure event fundraising activities comply with sector and charity regulations and best practice.
Support the Head of Communications and the Chief Executive Officer in executing an integrated communications plan.
Work closely supporting the Head of Communication to deliver national and regional media coverage around our GNR partnership in order to maximise coverage and recruitment for the campaign.
Build and maintain a strong relationship with the Great North Run
Engage with a wide range of stakeholders including VIPs, ambassadors, corporates, individual supporters, high value event partners and major donors, in order to develop a strong network of contacts and loyal supporter base.
Develop and maintain an active network of industry peers and develop wider industry knowledge to ensure that Made by Sport benefits from any new innovations and opportunities in the Sporting and Charity sector.
Who they are looking for:
A proven track record of campaign management, organising and managing challenge and/or sports events and/or fundraising.
The ability to build strong and trusted relationships with a range of stakeholders e.g. potential corporate sponsors, local businesses and individuals.
Experience with a range of communication channels including digital e.g. social media.
Strong organisational, project management and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects/competing priorities.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly motivated with a passion for making a difference.
A willingness to travel within the UK as needed.
It is desirable that the candidate will be educated to degree level.
About Made by Sport
Made by Sport is a four year charitable campaign that will champion the power of sport to change lives and raise vital funds for existing charities that are using sport to transform the lives of young people in disadvantaged communities across the UK. Currently 4.1m young people in the UK live in poverty with those from disadvantaged backgrounds half as likely to participate in sport regularly.
The campaign will champion the crucial skills that sport teaches – confidence, discipline, resilience, teamwork – that ultimately make a difference at school, at work and in life while setting out to raise £40m in incremental funding.

The campaign has already attracted support from corporate and private funders, is collaborating with Sport England on an innovative matched funding concept and is confirmed as the official campaign partner of the 40th Great North Run in 2020.
Made By Sport is the official campaign of the 40 th Great North Run (taking place in September 2020). The partnership was launched on the BBC at this year’s Great North Run by Lionesses Gill Scott and Steph Haughton. The ambition is to raise £2m to help changes the lives of young people in the North East through sport. It will be a unique partnership that will use this landmark moment for the Great North Run to leave a legacy for the North East.
