England Coach Aims to Inspire the Next Generation of Table Tennis Players

by | Sep 24, 2018 | News

Table Tennis England’s Youth Programme Manager, Matt Stanforth, paid a visit to Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club last week to check out the next generation of table tennis players from the club. Matthew came in and supported the beginner’s session, alongside supporting the club’s coaches to spot new talent and help inspire players to move up from the beginners group.

“Having Matt in the session really helped to inspire our younger player” said Matt Porter Chair at the club. “Getting some tips from an England coach we hope will push some of them to move up the club pathway and who knows, even follow some of the other club players into the England set up”

The club runs weekly junior beginners’ sessions on a Monday and Friday 6.00-7.30 sessions are run by qualified coaches and open to anybody aged 7-18. The club will be launching new primary aged sessions starting after half term along with a large primary school project delivering free table tennis in all the local primary schools.

The club also runs weekly adult sessions, and everyone is welcome, for more information contact Matt Porter on 07411 018 856 or matt@bishopaucklandttc.co.uk
