Two young Bishop Auckland table tennis players have been called up into the England Table Tennis Squads.
Jake Haygarth, 12, and Ben Mold, 11, both successfully gained call up to the England 9-13’s and England hope squads.
Both Ben and Jake had to meet criteria having played at several National events last season alongside holding a high national ranking, both players still had to apply for consideration and still impress the national coaching team including commonwealth bronze medallist, Kelly Sibley at an assessment day at Nottingham University.
“As expected both players were very excited and very happy” said Matt Porter club coach “both players have really worked hard this last 12 months and had some fantastic results. It’s just reward for their effort and hard work. We really couldn’t be prouder of them”
