In order to live an active and healthy lifestyle adults (aged 19 – 64) should aim to be active daily, any activity is better than none and more is better still.
Over a week, activity should add up to at least 150 minutes (2 and a half hours) of moderate intensity activity, 75 minutes of vigorous intensity activity or even shorter durations of very vigorous intensity (Or a combination!).
Adults should also undertake physical activity to improve muscle strength on at least two days a week, but any strengthening activity is better than none.
All adults should minimise the amount of time being sedentary (sitting) for extended periods.
