Leadership & Volunteering
Leadership & Volunteering is a programme to help support 14-19 year olds undertaking volunteering and the delivery of Leadership Academies in School Sport Partnerships.
Leadership Academies are designed to provide high quality, regular support, training and development for young people who are committed to actively volunteering within their school and/or community setting. These Academies enable young people to develop and grow as leaders and volunteers.
County Durham Sport supports 16-19 year olds undertaking community volunteering in high quality clubs ensuring these volunteers gain the best experience possible from their time volunteering.
Step into Sport
Step into Sport is part of the Leadership & Volunteering programme, providing a clear pathway for young volunteers (14-19) who want to become involved with sport in their local community.
For more information on the scheme, please see the Step into Sport programme information sheet.
The SiS Volunteer Passport gives students the opportunity to log any volunteering hours they do either in school or in the community. School mentors and club volunteer co-ordinators can then verify these hours which enables students to achieve certificates based on the number of volunteering hours undertaken - Bronze Certificate for 50 hours, Silver Certificate for 100 hours and Gold Certificate for 200 hours.
