To really make a difference, by getting more people to be and stay active, CPAL projects need to continually reach out to more individuals, families and organisations in their communities.

But getting known and building strong relationships is only a start. To keep people interested and engaged, it's important to keep communicating, with those who have already joined your project, and those who might do so in the future. Social marketing can help you to build good relationships and to continually engage with your target audiences.

In this section of the web site you can find a range of social marketing and research tools to help you:

• Attract new clients to your CPAL project

• Understand what your clients want from the project, and how well it is meeting their needs

• Identify any barriers that are getting in the way of recruiting - and keeping - clients

• Build closer and stronger relationships with organisations in your community, so that they will recommend your project and encourage people to get involved

The tools here were developed by Marketwise Strategies Ltd as part of an overall package of face to face support and half-day training workshops on social marketing and research to CPAL projects. Five 'Guides to Service Sustainability' have also been developed which present the findings of an extensive desk research and literature review exercise, focused on providing projects with a consolidated understanding of potential future opportunities.
