UK Athletics Regional Awards Launched
The North East Region have announced that their Regional Awards evening will take place on 4 October, at the Durham County Ground, Chester le Street, Durham. Information on how to come along on the night will be available closer to the event.
There are eleven categories of award which recognise the work of clubs, volunteers, officials and coaches, as well as the areas of partnership and disability athletics. They reward contributions and commitment to our sport over the past 12-month period. All Regional Awards winners will automatically be considered for recognition at the National Awards (although this does not mean that all will be shortlisted).
The England Athletics National Awards for volunteers takes place alongside the England Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony each year. This year the 2010 England Athletics National Awards programme will see many volunteers from across the country recognised for their contributions in supporting the development of the sport. The first stage of this programme is the regional nominations and awards process.
