New records set at Get Going Get Rowing Grand Final
This year's Get Going, Get Rowing competition came to a very exciting end with new records being set in almost all age categories. After fierce competition between 18,000 students, 192 of the region's best rowers battled it out to become North East Champions in the most exciting competition to date.
Durham University hosted the competition and a very special appearance from Emmerdale actor, John Middleton made the day even more special for all the participants involved.
A huge thank you must go to all of the partners; The Tony Blair Sports Foundation, Competition Managers, Concept 2, British Rowing, SUNEE, Durham University and Canoe England for making the event possible. The sponsors; North East NHS who provided the goodie bags and Northumbrian Water for providing all participants with bottled water.
