Make the most of the lighter days!
Now that the clocks have gone forward, why not make the most of the extra hours of daylight to get involved in sport or physical activity?
You can use the North East Club Finder to find a club in your area - just search by sport and postcode, or leave the sport blank to be inspired!
If you're aged 40-74 and want to get more active, why not check out the wide range of projects available through the CPAL programme - you could take part in rowing, walking, swimming, cycling, rugby, seated exercise, yoga, tai chi, tennis, dancing... the possibilities are nearly endless.
If you'd rather help out than play, have you considered volunteering? There are hundreds of opportunities out there in a wide range of roles from coaching to admin support.
If coaching is your thing, then find out how to get started or what support is available.
There are also some useful tools to help you find other activities taking place:
- The IMPACT database provides information on opportunities available in your local area
- Durham County Council's Activity Finder lets you search for an activity at your local leisure centre
- The Get Out There website gives young people aged 13 and over a list of fun activities to try
So make the most of the summer and help to make County Durham the most active county!
