Grassroots makeover project launched

RFL

Engage Mutual Assurance and the RFL have launched a makeover project aimed at all Community Rugby League clubs.

Engage and the RFL - in partnership with the Rugby League Foundation - are encouraging clubs to register their interest and organise a volunteer day where members, supporters, friends, family and people from the local community can turn up and collectively work on renovations and improvements to current club facilities.

The company has set up a website which includes a helpful step-by-step guide to help clubs organise their "engage with your club day" whilst the first 35 clubs to register will all receive an "engage with your club" support pack which will include t-shirts for the volunteers, large posters to promote the day, plus a small donation to spend on equipment and materials.

In addition for all clubs that have been registered there is the opportunity to apply for a club makeover worth up to £5000.

Two successful applicants will be chosen and the makeovers will take place on the action weekends of 6/7 and 13/14 August. The deadline for applications is Wednesday 6 July 2011.
