FA Girls Player Development Centre Nominations
Durham County FA in partnership with SAFC Foundation have been successful with the license to deliver an FA Girls Player Development Centre (FA PDC) for season 2011/12.
The FA PDC will bridge the gap between grassroots football and Centre of Excellence programme. Through offering young players with potential the best coaching and environment, we can offer to assist their personal development in football.
This will be achieved through coaching the successful players at the centre via a programme where they will be challenged in line with The FA's 4 Corner Model (technically, physically, psychologically and socially).
Every player will continue to play for their local grassroots club, and receive extra coaching on a Monday evening at Houghton Kepier Sports College from appropriately qualified coaches. The FA PDC will consist of a 20 week coaching programme and a minimum of two fixture dates in conjunction with other FA PDCs.
The FA PDC will run coaching sessions for successful players in the following age groups for the season 2011/12:
U9's & U11's Mondays @ 6 - 7pm
(FA Skills coaching centre 7-11yr olds)
U13's Mondays @ 7 - 8.30pm
U15's Mondays @ 7 - 8.30pm
U17's Mondays @ 7.30 - 9pm
(Please note age registrations will operate from 1 September 2011).
