It was a Charlotte Wilson own goal that gave Kent a 34th-minute advantage but that was cancelled out seconds later as Zoe Ness replied.
Wilson herself took the chance to make amends for the opener by converting a 53rd-minute penalty, with Ness netting her second 5 minutes later.
Courtenay Gibson pulled a goal back for Kent on 68 minutes but Durham ran out 3-2 winners.
