Durham Fencers selected for European Championships
Durham fencers Alex Craig and Stuart Scott both 16 from Laszlo's Fencing Club in Ushaw Moor, have been selected for Team GB to compete at the European Cadet Championships in Klagenfurt, Austria at the end of February. Preparation is now in full swing with their coach Laszlo Jakab at the Regional performance fencing centre based at Durham University.
Ranked 4th in the UK in the weapon sabre, for Stuart, this will be his first major championships but foil fencer and GB no. 2 Alex is very much a 'veteran' as a British squad member, competing at European, World and Commonwealth Championships.

Laszlo's Fencing Club is based at Sir Bobby Robson Sport Centre at Ushaw Moor and meets on Thursdays 7 - 9pm.
