DARC get two Golds and Two Silvers at EIRC

Sunday 21 February saw Gill Prescott and Roger Stainforth in action at the 2010 English Indoor Rowing Championships in Manchester.

This year Gill entered three events at the Velodrome. The first event was the Womens 50 - 59 Hwt 2K where Gill won Gold with a time of 7.22.5 with a comfortable lead of 13.4 seconds over Silver medalist Anna Bailey. Gill's next competition was the Womens Open Hwt 2K event, which saw her winning the Silver medal after narrowly missing out on the Gold medal by 3 seconds. The last event of the day for Gill was the Womens Open Hwt (500m) where in a time of 1.41.6 seconds she was awarded her final Gold Medal. Gill is coached by Geoff Graham.

Roger Stainforth also came home with a medal for DARC after winning Silver in the 60-69 Hwt catagory with a time of 7.05.2 seconds.

After her 2x Gold and 1x Silver Medal winning performance Durham Amateur Rowing Clubs indoor rower Gill Prescott is top of the world rankings for her age in all three distances, 500m, 1000m and 2000m.
