Blue Coat C of E Junior School County Swimming Gala Champions!
Blue Coat Junior School took the honours at the County Durham Primary Swimming Gala that took place on Friday 29 January. The event, organised by Durham County Council in conjunction with County Durham Competition Managers, saw the two winning schools from each School Sport Partnership compete to be county champions. The event included races in breast stroke, back stroke and freestyle as well as a freestyle relay. Individual medals were given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each discipline for Y3/4 Girls, Y3/4 Boys, Y5/6 Girls and Y5/6 Boys and the combined relay. Each competitor gained points for their school by the position they finished. The overall winning results were as follows:
1st Blue Coat (Durham City SSP)
2nd Byerley Park (Sedgefield SSP)
3rd St Margarets (Durham City SSP)
Thank you to The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Durham Councillor Dennis J Southwell and Mayoress Mes Elspseth M Southwell who came and supported the event and presented the medals to the placed swimmers.
