To qualify for this award the individual or group must meet ONE of the following Qualification Criteria:

Been born, live in and/or be based in County Durham
Be able to show a significant connection to County Durham

Achieved the unexpected in sport
Overcome a specific challenge or barrier to achieve within their sport
Be seen as a role model, inspiring other individuals and/or groups within sport
