The School Games aims to be much more than competitive school sport - our aspiration is to support all young people to achieve their personal best in sport and in life. After London 2012 now is the time to harness the unique power and energy of the world's greatest sporting event to motivate all young people. What is the School Games?
The School Games is a key Government priority for realising a meaningful sporting legacy from the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It is supported by three Government Departments - Department for Education, Department of Culture, Media and Sport, and the Department of Health - with funding from Sport England, through the National Lottery. The School Games underline this Government's commitment to providing a new approach to competitive school sport designed to motivate and enthuse all young people.

School Games Mark
The School Games Mark is owned and created by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and is implemented and developed by the Youth Sport Trust and Sport England.
The Mark rewards school for their commitment to and the development of competition, school sport and physical education and was first launched in June 2012 via the School Games website.
All schools in England who are registered on www.yourschoolgames.com can apply for a School Games Mark via their school dashboard.
